Greensky Bluegrass held their second annual Camp Greensky festival from June 6-8 in the heart of the Manistee National Forest.

The Michigan event featured sets by over a dozen artists, including Billy Strings, Stephen Marley, Circles Around The Sun and Del & Dawg (Del McCoury and David Grisman).

Undoubtedly, one of the weekend’s biggest highlights came when the entire Greensky Bluegrass gang came out to perform with McCoury and Grisman on bluegrass standards like “New River Train.”

“We’re, in fact, their opening act right now,” Grisman joked with the crowd.

On his personal Instagram page, GSBG’s Paul Hoffman noted that seeing David Grisman perform in 2000 was a life-changing experience that inspired him to pick up the mandolin.

“To thank a hero 19 years later at an event we worked so hard for is hard to put into words,” he wrote. “Thank you dawg. thank you @campgreensky cause i’ve had the time of my life and i owe it all to you. full circle. spread the word love, dreams can come true.”
