Beloved soul singer Charles Bradley passed away on September 23 , 2017, and to honor the fallen legend UTOPiAfest has announced a special one-off show on June 21 in Austin, Tx.

According to a press release, Love Charles: A Tribute to Charles Bradley will feature “house band CJ Edwards and the Funk Fellowship, and a number of genre and generation spanning Austinite guest singers including LouLou Ghelichkhani (Thievery Corporation), Bavu Blakes, Alesia Lani, Carrie Fussell (Calliope Musicals), Slim Gravy, Nnedi Agbaroji (Trouble In the Streets), Graham Wilkinson, Tim Crane (T Bird & The Breaks), and more.”

Bradley headlined UTOPiAfest twice in his career, serving up memorable performances for years to come.

“It was infinite. It was magic. It was love,” Bradley said of his rainy UTOPiAfest set in 2012. “Everybody didn’t care about getting wet, and that made me not care about it, either. I just wanted to mingle with the people. All we were doing was standing in the shower having ourselves a shower.”
