On Thursday evening in Huntington, NY, Mike Love brought his Beach Boys tour to The Paramount for a special show that featured a sit in from Marky Ramone, drummer for The Ramones, who joined the band for a few tunes including a cover of his band’s own tune “Rockaway Beach,” which Love and his band released yesterday as a single for his upcoming album, 12 Sides of Summer (out July 19 via BMG).

Before the sit in, Love and company’s set (Love’s iteration of The Beach Boys also includes former touring member Bruce Johnston) featured numerous Beach Boys classics like “Surfin’ Safari,” “Surfin’ U.S.A.,” “Surfer Girl,” “Be True to Your School,” “Don’t Worry Baby,” “Little Deuce Coupe,” “I Get Around,” “God Only Knows,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “Help Me Rhonda,” “Barbara Ann,” “Kokomo” and more.

Ramone then emerged to help out with the final three songs of the night, starting with “California Sun,” a tune covered by both The Ramones and former Beach Boys leader Brian Wilson that also appears on Love’s upcoming album. Next up was “Rockaway Beach,” followed by the night’s finale, the Beach Boys favorite “Fun Fun Fun.”
