Lettuce have shared another taste of their forthcoming record Elevate, with a version of “Everybody Wants To Rule The World,” one of two cover songs on the new LP.

Keyboardist Nigel Hall shoulders vocal duties on the “Tears For Fears” cut, and, as he said in a recent press release, it’s a melody close to his heart.

“This is a song I’ve always loved from the movie Real Genius from way back in the day,” he explained. “I’ve always felt a connection with this song, as I never like to sing covers that I can’t relate to. We hope that you enjoy our version as we’ve tried to make it dope, which I think we did.”

Added bassist Erick “Jesus” Coomes, “We feel it’s time to put aside our differences, let go of our egos and embrace our society with love, acceptance and a collective perseverance. We know together we can make it, we know that well, so this song is a reminder to live together in harmony.”
