New York’s Lincoln Center will once again host the Out of Doors free concert series this summer, and the recently revealed schedule includes performances from Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy, H.E.R., Lee Field & the Expressions and more, including some dance and spoken-word events.
Fields and his band will perform at Damrosch Park July 27 as part of a special event dubbed Look at My Soul: The Latin Shade of Texas Soul, which will also feature Austin outfit Black Pumas and guest vocalists Jonny Benavidez, Eric Burton (Black Pumas), Kam Franklin (The Suffers), Johnny Hernandez, Ruben Ramos and Paul Schalda, directed by Adrian Quesada (also of Black Pumas).
Other highlights from the free concert series include Tweedy and Helen Gillet (July 26); NPR Music’s Turning the Tables Live: The Motherlode featuring Rhiannon Giddens and more (July 31); comedian Roy Wood Jr. (Aug. 3); H.E.R. and Samm Henshaw (Aug. 9); Patty Griffin and Yola (Aug. 10); and Americanafest NYC (Aug. 11, lineup TBA).
