Widespread Panic have announced an additional two-night run on their summer schedule, hitting Northern Florida’s Pensacola Bay Center on August 31 and September 1.
The Labor Day Weekend announcement comes after WSP’s recent headlining performance at this year’s New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, and should find the band already nestled in the Sunshine State, with an August 2-4 run already scheduled in St. Augustine.
Tickets for Widespread Panic in Pensacola will go on sale Friday, May 10. Visit WidespreadPanic.com for more information.

Plenty of youngsters discovering and loving Panic these days. The crowd at PELP was notably younger this year. And the best part is that Panic Noobs aren’t a bunch of scarf-wearing hipsters like the wannabes on phish lot. Panic and the people who love them are real, and they don’t need puds like you.

May 7, 2019 at 11:54 amit’s a real divider, this phish-wsp thing. kinda funny really. neither is gaining new fans in a vast sense, but in my experience those who’ve never heard them , when introduced, are quite impressed by the musicality of both bands…do they become devoted fans this late in the game…maybe so, probably not…. really those have already been well established. Let’s not pretend that the 2 bands are anything alike. they are not.

May 7, 2019 at 8:57 amBramski please just stay away. I saw WSP many times before we lost Houser in 2002. McConnell was rather generic but Jimmy Herring is excellent. If you don’t like it just fuck off. The vast majority of great bands put out their best material early in career. To sell out multi night runs this far along is a pipe dream for most. And it sounds like you’re jeolous because you can’t find or afford blow. The hotels do get old (and expensive) so I prefer Wanee (until this year) camping or better yet right by my house. This is one step down from literally playing in my backyard. Oh and the white sand beach doesn’t exactly suck either. Stay north, chump.

May 6, 2019 at 10:01 pmHell yeah my favorite band not even ten minutes from home. All you haters please stay away. Everybody else come visit my new record store, Cocoa’s Vinyl &Vibes in Gulf Breeze on way to the beach. We will be closing at five both days for obvious reasons. St Augustine is great but six hour drive and those 3 shows are sold out as always.

May 7, 2019 at 2:09 amWhy do you think panic’s fanbase nowadays is a bunch of aging weekend warriors that refuse to let go of the band’s halcyon days (late 90’s- ‘02). A truly stellar time when they really tore it up on a nightly basis? Talk about a fanbase that lives in the past…. why did their popularity come to a grinding halt with younger college kids just getting into the music scene? Phish is always attracting new fans of all ages, is wsp? The answer is that panic is nothing more than a nostalgic act and their fanbase continues to shrink. Seeing old friends and partaking in after show hotel room coke parties is what keeps this fan base interested, that’s all!
If those past heater shows of yesteryear never existed and wsp showed up as a new band in say 2005(post Mikey), would anybody really give a shit about them currently?
These days, They sound like any other stereotypical southern rock band. Take the Pepsi challenge these days and it’s hard to tell the difference between wsp and the black Crowes not factoring in the distinct vocals of jb and Chris Robinson of course.
Blind loyalty is the equivalent of faking your way through life. Take away the drugs , specially coke and panic’s fanbase would stop going to shows overnight. Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?
