Each year during the two weekends of New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Crescent City stalwarts Preservation Hall Jazz Band host their Midnight Preserves series at their namesake venue, featuring surprise guests every night, and the group wrapped up this year’s offerings this past weekend with more surprise appearances.
For their final Midnight Preserves of Jazz Fest 2019 on Sunday, Pres Hall tapped Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, who performed an intimate show at the iconic Hall. Karl Denson was also on hand, and the evening capped off a weekend that also saw The Revivalists stop by Preservation Hall on Friday night along with the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Jupiter & Okwess.
Check out some photos from the Midnight Preserves above and below.

May 7, 2019 at 12:23 pmJupiter & Okwess were the talk of the 2nd weekend. Glad I got Steve Earle at The Midnight show I was at. Not a fan of Rateliff or The Revivalists at all.
