On Friday evening Phish bassist Mike Gordon continued his stint in New Orleans during the city’s annual Jazz & Heritage Festival with his own solo band performance at the Joy Theater, followed by a surprise appearance at his keyboardist Robert Walter’s late-night show with 20th Congress.

After Gordon’s solo show at the Joy, which was streamed for free live via Nugs.net and featured covers of Tom Petty’s “Wildflowers” and Rancid’s “Ruby Soho” plus an encore of Tower of Power’s “You Strike My Main Nerve,” the bassist once again teamed up with Walter and his 20th Congress over at d.b.a. The collective ran through “Don’t Chin the Dog,” which was teased during the second set closer “Crazy Sometimes” at the Joy show.

Gordon had also collaborated with Walter, Marco Benevento, Adam Deitch and more earlier in the week during the Worship My Organ late-night show.

Check out Gordon’s full setlist from Friday below, along with full-show video of his Joy Theater performance.
