On June 19, Karina Rykman will be the supporting act for Khruangbin’s Capitol Theatre debut.
The trio – featuring Rykman on bass, Adam November on guitar and Chris Corsico on drums – recently made their headlining debut at New York City’s Rough Trade, and are set to play their inaugural tour this May. Rykman also regularly tours as the bassist for Marco Benevento.
“I’m so beyond humbled and stoked to open for one of my favorite bands in such a legendary room,” Rykman told Jambands.com. “This will be my first time playing The Cap! And to do it with my trio, with the amazing Adam November on guitar and Chris Corsico on drums is just ridiculous. I couldn’t be happier. I’ve also enlisted what I call my ‘team of experts’ from Marco tour, Jeff Volckhausen on lights and Julian Booker on sound, to crush this one off with us. It’s important to me to keep it all in the family! And the Khruangbin crew (or Khru, rather!) are my pals since we played on the same stage at Outside Lands 2017. What an amazing trajectory they’re on. So wild and awesome to see them get bigger and bigger. Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch.”
