A new collection of rare, early David Bowie recordings will be packaged into Parlophone’s new box-set release, The Mercury Demos, which will be available June 28.

The set will feature 10 tracks, all recorded live and in one take by Bowie and guitarist John “Hutch” Hutchinson at Bowie’s apartment in 1969, including a previously released early version of “Space Oddity,” which went on to be Bowie’s first hit. The other nine tunes included in The Mercury Demos are previously unreleased and include Bowie originals and songs penned by Roger Bunn (“Life Is A Circus”) and Lesley Duncan (“Love Song,” later recorded by Elton John). The demos collection played a part in getting Bowie his deal with Mercury Records at the time.

The Mercury Demos box set will come with a single vinyl LP plus a replica of the original tape box, a print, photo contact sheets and liner notes by Mark Adams. See the tracklist below and pre-order the collection here.
