Steely Dan have announced they will head to Boston this fall for a five-night residency during which the band will present full-album performances, similar to their fall 2018 stint at New York’s Beacon Theatre.
The run, set for Boston’s Orpheum Theater, kicks off Oct. 25 and 26 and resumes Oct. 29–30 and Nov. 1. The band will be playing their albums Aja, The Nightfly, Gaucho and The Royal Scam, along with a “Greatest Hits” night.
Tickets for the Boston residency go on sale this Friday, April 12, at 10 a.m. ET, with an American Express pre-sale currently ongoing. See Steely Dan’s full tour schedule here.

April 11, 2019 at 10:21 pmBecker was barely playing in the band by the end. He would be up on stage maybe 15 minutes a night. The band touring is, for all intents and purposes, the same band you have seen on the road for more than 10 years now.

April 11, 2019 at 2:26 pmSteely Dan does not need Walter Becker to go on. Jon Herington was doing most of the guitar work anyway. Walter Becker was great and provided character to the band and some good guitar solos, but Herington was (and still is) carrying the guitar side. Not to take anything away from Becker’s accomplishments as a songwriter. The other members of the band are great too. Keith Carlock is an excellent drummer.
If you like Steely Dan, go see them. (The tickets are very expensive, however.) I saw Royal Scam recently at the Beacon and that was great. One of the greatest albums ever.

April 11, 2019 at 10:58 amHe said all of the promoters won’t let them tour as anything other than “Steely Dan.” It makes sense. Everybody knows the deal. Walter never allowed a “The Nightfly” night and Donald never allowed an “Eleven Tracks of Whack” night…
