On Thursday, May 9, the Stella Blue’s Band have planned a free, Grateful Dead cover show at the Naumburg Bandshell in New York City’s Central Park.
The performance is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m., and while it is free, the band notes that it will serve as a benefit for Riverkeeper, “New York’s clean water advocate, working to clean up the Hudson River since the Dead first played in the band shell 51 years ago.”
There will also be an event tshirt available, featuring an image pained by Jerry Garcia in 1992 specifically for Riverkeeper.
Event sponsors include The Capitol Theatre, the Morgan Le Fay Dreams Foundation and “Friends of Free Dead in the Park,” including Alex Blavatnik, Scott Schaevitz and John and Rachel Cahill.
