Kevin Parker has returned with Tame Impala and, as the band gears up for a summer of festival dates, the Australian singer-songwriter appeared with his touring band on Saturday Night Live yesterday evening, playing two new songs from a yet-to-be-announced fourth Tame Impala studio album.
Parker released the psychedelic-leaning group’s first new single since 2015, “Patience,” earlier this month, and offered up the tune’s live debut on SNL last night, along with a previously unheard track titled “Borderline.” Parker’s synth-heavy band setup on the show was also augmented by a conga player, with Parker himself only picking up a guitar for part of “Patience.”
Watch the group play both new tunes below. Tame Impala kick off their 2019 tour dates on April 11 with a warmup show in Pomona, CA, prior to their appearance at both weekends of Coachella.

March 31, 2019 at 7:27 pmsaw it, absolute horse shit, between the lip-syncing and generally gay synthesizing and auto-tune. Keith Richards is right, there’s very little out there now. Surprised this’d make this site, or maybe I shouldn’t be. -Wild Wildebeest
