On Tuesday night, Page McConnell joined Bob Weir & Wolf Bros in Miami for two songs in their second set.
Weir & Wolf Bros opened the show with “Friend of the Devil” and worked through covers like “When I Paint My Masterpiece” and “The Maker” before closing the first half with the classic pairing of “Lost Sailor” and “Saint of Circumstance.”
For the second set, McConnell jumped onstage to add keys to “Hell in a Bucket” and “Scarlet Begonias,” adding vocals to the latter tune as well.
After McConnell’s departure, the Wolf Bros trio jammed on Ratdog’s “Odessa,” Bob Dylan’s “All Along The Watchtower” and the Grateful Dead’s own “Weather Report Suite.” The impov continued into a version of “Let It Grow,” and the band closed the set with “Standing On The Moon”> “Throwing Stones.”
The band encored with a stand-alone “U.S. Blues.”
