Mike Gordon continued his stint at The Sinclair on Saturday night welcoming special guest Trey Anastasio for the most of the second set.

The first half of the gig kicked off with Gordon’s OGOGO track “Whirlwind,” and hit its stride with an extended “Sleep to Dream”> “My Favorite Mistake” jam.

Later, Gordon invited his daughter Tessa to the stage to toss “I Am Random” pins into the crowd (a reference to the Gordon/Murawski composition of the same name) and closed the show with newer cut “Sughn Never Sets.”

Set two opened with the aforementioned “I Am Random,” but the show really took off with the appearance of Gordon’s Phish bandmate Trey Anastasio. The guitarist jammed with Gordon’s band for a “Victim”> “Peel” segment as well as “Got To Be More Careful,” which Gordon debuted just last month.

The seventh-ever “Acid Man” followed (which was debuted on March 8), and segued into “Are You A Hypnotist??” Gordon continued leading the show with “Crazy Sometimes,” which Phish has played a number of times in the live setting. The set closed with another Gordon-turned-Phish tune “How Many People Are You.”

Much to fans’ delight, the show encored with a version of Aerosmith’s “Sweet Emotion,” which has been in Gordon’s own repertoire for a while, but has not been performed by Phish proper since Nov. 27, 1996.

At the end of the show, Gordon, his band and Anastasio stood arm-in-arm at the foot of the stage, to uproarious cheers from the crowd, capping off the first time Anastasio had joined Gordon’s solo band since 2014, when the guitarist sat in for a couple tunes in Tarrytown, NY.
