Hayley Jane and the Primates announced yesterday that they will be taking an “indefinite hiatus” after their spring and summer touring schedule concludes this year.

In a statement to their fans, the band wrote, “We have decided, as a group, that it’s time for us to take a real break and turn our focus to other things in our lives that require more attention.”

The note goes on to thank the band’s fans for their “love, support and loyalty” and explain that the hiatus was “not…an easy decision.

“We know in our hearts, however, that it is the right one,” the group continues. “We want to be clear that there is nothing but love and support within our group and we plan on ending this summer with an unbelievable bang. We hope to see you out there in the next few months to celebrate this extraordinary journey we’ve all been on together!”

Friends, Fans, and Family
We would like to thank you all for your continued support and understanding during this time of transition. We are thrilled that spring has arrived and festival season is drawing near. Our spring-summer schedule is shaping up to be a busy one and we’ll be playing festivals all over the Northeast. With that in mind, we hope you will be able to make it out to one of these events as we have made the difficult decision to go on an indefinite hiatus at the end of the summer. This band has been a joy for all involved. It has also seen it’s fair share of speed bumps and difficulties as all bands do. We have decided, as a group, that it’s time for us to take a real break and turn our focus to other things in our lives that require more attention. There’s no way to truly express what your love, support, and loyalty have meant to us through the years and we hope that you understand that this has not been an easy decision. We know in our hearts, however, that it is the right one. We want to be clear that there is nothing but love and support within our group and we plan on ending this summer with an unbelievable bang. We hope to see you out there in the next few months to celebrate this extraordinary journey we’ve all been on together! We love you so much! And thank you again.
