On Sunday evening, The Rock and Roll Playhouse hosted “The Music of Prince for Kids” at Colorado’s Boulder Theater, and the night’s encore featured a couple of special guests, legendary Meters bassist George Porter Jr. and Lettuce guitarist Adam “Shmeeans” Smirnoff.
After the main portion of the show, Annabel Lukins, who works in Artist Programming at Cloud 9 Adventures and also helps with Rock and Roll Playhouse, addressed the crowd of children and parents to introduce the musical guests, Porter and Smirnoff (who brought his own young daughter to the tribute), both of whom then emerged with the night’s band for a cover of Prince’s “Musicology,” the title track to his 2004 album.
Watch a video of the collaboration below via a stream on Lukins’ Facebook.
