On Sunday night, Eddie Vedder played a solo acoustic set at Innings Festival in Tempe Beach Park in Tempe, AZ, and the Pearl Jam frontman offered cuts from his own band along with a number of choice covers, including a rendition of the Jason Isbell-penned “Maybe It’s Time.”

The song played a part in the Oscar-winning film A Star Is Born, in which director/star Bradley Cooper sang the tune as country-rock veteran Jackson Maine. Isbell himself responded to Vedder playing his tune by sharing his gratitude on Twitter, writing, “Holy shit Eddie Vedder sang my Bradley Cooper song in his set tonight. That is by far the strangest sentence I’ve ever composed but it’s certainly a huge honor. I was 12 when ‘Ten’ came out and by god I learned how to play every song on it.”

Vedder, who’s own career, look and vocal style influenced Cooper’s on-screen depiction of Maine, gave a heartfelt rendition of the song, including it in his festival set that was full of classic covers like Tom Petty’s “Wildflowers,” The Beatles’ “Something” and “You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away,” George Harrison’s “Isn’t it a Pity,” The Clash’s “Should I Stay or Should I Go” and more.
