Dead & Company returned to the outdoor stage in Riviera Maya, Mexico, on Sunday night to wrap up their annual Playing in the Sand destination event, and the group took the opportunity to give a nod to the lunar eclipse that was taking place last night.

After a first set that featured Grateful Dead favorites like “Sugar Magnolia,” “Bertha,” “Brown-Eyed Women” and “Sugaree,” Dead & Co. returned for the second frame with an array of tunes that referenced the rare lunar event, which was dubbed the Super Blood Wolf Moon because of a few converging attributes, starting with “Scarlet Begonias” and “Fire On the Mountain.” The set also included “Dark Star” with an “Althea” interpolation, “Playing in the Band,” the final “Drums/Space” of the Mexican vacation, “Standing on the Moon” and set closer “Casey Jones.” Last night’s encore continued the moon allusions with a howling-filled “Werewolves of London” that came out of “Eyes of the World.”

See the full setlist below, along with pro-shot footage of the set openers via the live webcast on nugs.tv. Dead & Company are off the road until they pick up their spring and summer tour dates starting May 31 in California. See their full schedule here.
