Guster released their first new studio album in four years, Look Alive, on Friday, and the band has had a busy weekend celebrating the effort, with multiple performances around NYC and the Northeast, including some rare collaborations with horn sections.

Along with short sessions at places like the UCB theater, WNYC Soundcheck, Boston Public Radio, the Relix office, 107.1 The Peak and other stations, Guster also stopped by NYC’s famed Strand bookstore for a performance and chat with Chopped‘s Ted Allen, who ended up joining the band on keyboards for their song “Satellite.”

The band also took their album-release celebration to television, making their debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers and appearing on CBS Saturday Morning. Both performances saw Guster team up with a horn section featuring Kelly Pratt (Arcade Fire, Beirut), Matt Bauder (Arcade Fire) and Stuart Bogie (Arcade Fire, Antibalas).

Pratt also joined Guster for their show on Saturday night at Boston’s House of Blues, adding trumpet to a couple songs and joining a horn section of saxophonist Jacob Schulman and trombonist Eric Stilwell for others. Watch Guster’s live stream of that entire show below.
