The supergroup Dr. Klaw has announced a rare two-night run at Cervantes’ Other Side in Denver tomorrow and Saturday (January 4 and 5) presented by Live for Live Music. Having only played sporadically since their inception, the star-studded lineup consists of Lettuce members Eric Krasno, Adam Deitch and Nigel Hall; Ian Neville and Nick Daniels of Dumpstaphunk; and features Meters legend Cyril Neville.Lyle Divinsky’s Soul Survivors are slated to open the first show and Casey Russell & The Soul Shack will open the second.

A few years ago at the New Orleans Jazz Fest, the younger Neville suggested the group of musicians book a couple late-night gigs and, as legend has it, after the others witnessed “Dr. Klaw” Daniels’ vocal abilities and funk-bass wizardry, they knew the group was worth audiences’ attention. The band’s Facebook page describes their soundas “the aural equivalent of a fully dressed oyster Po’boy sandwich with spicy Cajun mustard/remoulade sauce, and it sure tastes good!”

Due to prior commitments and primary projects, the Klaw have only performed live a handful of times and have yet to record any music in their three plus years of existence.

Two-day and one-day tickets, as well as more information about the performers, are available here.
