Roosevelt Collier and Ron Holloway with Gov’t Mule

Gov’t Mule opened its year end run of dates last night at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA , with a two-set show that drew in multiple guests. Melvin Seals, Weedie Braimah and Jennifer Hartswick, all of whom appeared with Oteil Burbridge at the Capitol Theatre on Thursday and will return tonight, joined longtime Mule collabrator Ron Holloway late in set one for a version of Little Feat’s “Spanish Moon.” Holloway later re-emerged during the second set for the opening sequence that moved from “Mule” into “I’ve Been Working” and then back into “Mule.” At the close of the evening, Holloway and sacred steel guitarist Roosevelt Collier also appeared on the “Going Out West” encore.

Gov’t Mule will make its way to New York City’s Beacon Theatre tonight and will return to the venue on New Year’s Eve.
