Trey Anastasio began the final two-night run of his solo acoustic tour on Friday night at Macky Auditorium Concert Hall in Boulder, CO, and the Phish frontman marked the occasion with a couple of major bust outs, bringing back a couple of tunes that he hadn’t played since the ’90s.

Anastasio wasted no time in bringing the surprises last night, kicking off the show with “Snowflakes in the Sand,” which the guitarist hadn’t offered up since May 17, 1999. The song was a staple of that spring Trey Anastasio Band tour and one of the tunes that Anastasio played solo acoustic during the run. Other originals that were debuted during that span of shows include more familiar cuts like “Back on the Train,” “The Inlaw Josie Wales” and “Mountains in the Mist” (all of which also appeared in the setlist last night).

The rest of the night featured more renditions of Kasvot Växt tunes from Phish’s Halloween set (“Turtle in the Clouds,” “Say It to Me S.A.N.T.O.S.”) and another major surprise in “Glide II,” which saw its solo acoustic debut last night. The song has been played by Phish only once, back on May 16, 1999. Anastasio also offered staples like “The Lizards,” “Ghost,” “Bouncing Around the Room,” “Blaze On,” “Backwards Down the Number Line” and “Chalk Dust Torture,” which ended the main set with a “Harry Hood” interpolation. The evening then closed out with a four-song encore that wrapped up with “Bathtub Gin.”
