After announcing a surprise new side-project yesterday afternoon, Trey Anastasio took his solo tour to the Cascade Theatre in Redding, CA, last night, and the guitarist continued to offer debuts of Phish tunes in a solo acoustic setting.

Anastasio kicked off the night with his newer composition “Rise/Come Together” and fit in “Turtle in the Clouds” from Phish’s Kasvot Växt Halloween show a few songs later, plus some staples like “Theme From the Bottom” and “Blaze On” in the first half of the set. Near the middle of the performance, Anastasio played the relatively rare Phish cuts “Swept Away” and “Steep,” marking his first-ever solo acoustic renditions of the songs. Phish last played the duo (which have always appeared together) during their Baker’s Dozen run at New York’s Madison Square Garden last summer, the first time the band has included them in a setlist since 2012.

Anastasio continued the night with favorites like “Carini,” “Prince Caspian,” “Sample in a Jar” and a “Chalk Dust Torture” with an interpolation of “The Wedge,” then closed out the evening with a four-song encore of “Waste,” “Joy,” “Bathtub Gin” and “Wilson.”

See the full setlist below. Anastasio will wrap up his solo acoustic tour this weekend with a two-night stand at Macky Auditorium in Boulder, CO.
