My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James recently recorded a couple of songs for Spotify’s Singles Sessions series, including a cut from his recent solo albums and a cover of “What the World Needs Now is Love.”

James and MMJ have played the Burt Bacharach/Hal David-penned tune in the past, and the singer is joined by the Resistance Revival Chorus for this Spotify Sessions version. The chorus is also featured on the other track from the session, “Over and Over,” which appears on James’ album Uniform Distortion and its acoustic companion, Uniform Clarity. Listen below.

James has also announced that he will release a deluxe vinyl edition of those two albums, which will be released as a two-album set on March 22. The collection can be pre-ordered here.
