Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon at Eaux Claires in 2016
Eaux Claires Music Festival, which returned to Eau Claire, WI, for its fourth annual gathering earlier this year, will not take place next year, festival organizers have announced via a statement on their website, also noting that they are already planning to hold the event in 2020.
“We find ourselves wanting to move out, change things, and take stock of who we’ve become,” the note reads. “While it will be hard for us to break the chain of momentum and the positive impact the festival has had on our community, we have fresh, clear ideas of how to make it even better. But we aren’t just changing locations, we’re bolstering our philosophies. We want to celebrate EVEN MORE about this REAL TOWN we call home by extolling and imagining things we haven’t seen or experienced to date.”
The announcement also notes that Eaux Claires will host performance and discussion events at Eau Claire’s Pablo Center “in the coming months” that will include talks about the future of the festival.

December 13, 2018 at 10:16 amJambands should hold a creative writing contest and vote on which festival is the best at bullshitting when deciding the show isn’t economically feasible (profitable) anymore. The usual bullshit about trying to change themselves and the world is transcendent and takes real talent…
