The special shows will take place at Brooklyn, NY’s Elsewhere on December 11 and Stanhope,NJ’s The Stanhope House on December 22. Sam Evian will support Delicate Steve at Elsewhere; the Stanhope date is the latest installment of what has become an annual homestate holiday show for the New Jersey-bred musician. The Christmas Album features a mix of re-imagined Christmas cuts, including “Silent Night, “Silver Bells, “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” “White Christmas,” “Little Drummer Boy,” “Frosty The Snowman,” “Away in A Manger” and “The First Noel.” JRAD’s Joe Russo, Dave Dreiwitz, Marco Benevento, St. Vincent/Arcade Fire brass contributor Kelly Pratt and Norah Jones/Cass McCombs guitarist Dan Lead are among the musicians who back Delicate Steve on the seasonal release.
Delicate Steve performed “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” “Silver Bells” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” at New York’s Rockwood Music Hall Stage 3 last week as part of “The Friday Night Jam” speaking series. Jounce’s Danny Tamberelli and Tim Kuhl served as his rhythm section. He also participated in The Last Waltz concert at Port Chester, NY’s Capitol Theatre on Saturday and sat in with Dirty Projectors for “Impregnable Question” during their late show at Elsewhere on Sunday.
