On Tuesday, Nov. 20, legendary bassist George Porter Jr. will lead a gang of musicians at Mill Valley, Calif.’s Sweetwater Music Hall to benefit the Send It Foundation.
The list of featured musicians include Eddie Roberts of The New Mastersounds, Adam Deitch of Lettuce and Jennifer Hartswick of Trey Anastasio band as well as keyboardist Joe Tatton, horn-player Mike Ohimos and guitarist Benjamin Andrews.
According to the Sent It Foundation’s website, the nonprofit provides “outdoor adventures for young adults battling cancer.” It also preaches the message that “while none of us know what tomorrow holds, what we all have is today.”
Tickets for the event are available here.

November 20, 2018 at 9:40 amReally hope this is a night of FUNK music and not Grateful Dead songs. Last sf bennefit I went to with Vega and hartswick at slims was mostly GD music. 1st few songs were nasty then scarlet begonias got busted out and the show fizzled into some gd/Garcia tribute act. I feel like there should be disclaimers in the billing if that’s Whatsup. Just sayin
