After recently releasing some pro-shot video from their Halloween performance of new original music under the guise of Kasvot Växt’s long-lost album í rokk, Phish have surprised fans by posting the full recording of the set on Spotify.
The band devised a full backstory for the ostensibly super-obscure Scandinavian outfit for Halloween, even teaming up with websites to post backdated interviews and biographies and creating an intricate story of discover for an article in their “Phishbill.” The hoax was thorough and the music itself was fresh and interesting—and wholly Phish.
Whether you were there in Las Vegas on October 31 or you’ve only heard about Kasvot Växt via Twitter, this is a live album worth checking out. Maybe it’ll even turn out to be the glue in your magnet. Listen below.

November 12, 2018 at 1:22 pmOn November 1st, I paid for the d/l from Livephish.com. I was super stoked by the premise, the presentation, and above, how “Phish” it really was. I love these guys. To keep the Halloween bit fresh all these years later is outstanding. Kudos to them. But then, I listened to it. It’s awful, by any standard. It feels like outtakes from Big Boat, which is by far the worst Phish album of all. So they pulled the whole thing off, but this band just doesn’t have a full album of original passable music in them anymore.

November 11, 2018 at 12:03 pm“confederate pride” is an ultra-liberal asswipe living in the northeast, I guarantee it. This is basically a free album, which is cool. I doubt the people at the show appreciated it but it’s not the first time they didn’t really deliver a “classic” album. How many of you ever heard of “Chilling, Thrilling Sounds” before they played it?
