Mavis Staples has announced she will release Live in London, the iconic singer’s first live album in a decade, on February 8, 2019, via Anti- Records. Staples has also shared the video for one of the album’s tracks, a understated but powerful rendition of “No Time For Cryin’.”

The live album, which was produced by Staples herself, takes from her performances during a two-night stand at London’s Union Chapel, which Staples calls “the best place in the world to sing.”

In a press release, Staples speaks on her recent collaborations with an array of songwriters, saying, “I’ve stretched out—I’m singing songs that rock stars have written for me, but they know me and the kind of songs I want to sing.” Looking at Live in London‘s opening track, the Ben Harper-penned “Love and Trust,” Staples says, “I love that song, it’s a beauty. I’ve been sending a message of love and trust since the Sixties, and I’m still searching for that.”
