Amanda Shires and Nathaniel Rateliff both recently played the Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival in Columbia, MO, and the two Americana singer-songwriters took the opportunity to share a collaborative moment, teaming up for a duet on one of Rateliff’s tunes on the tour bus.

In a video that was shared by Shires on her Instagram story (h/t JamBase), she lends some violin and harmonies to Rateliff’s vocals and acoustic guitar as the duo play “You Should Have Seen the Other Guy,” a tune off of Rateliff’s 2010 album In Memory of Loss that became a fan favorite during his solo days. Along with some choice, lo-fi space visualizations, the video offers a gorgeous take on the song, with the sparse instrumentation letting Rateliff’s powerful voice and Shires’ subdued violin work shine.

Watch below. Rateliff is currently on tour with The Night Sweats, playing next in Columbus, OH, tomorrow night, while Shires’ next show comes later this month on October 26 at Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium.
