John Oates of Hall & Oates stopped by Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA, on Thursday night for a show that featured a couple of special guests, including Bob Weir, who returned to his home venue to join the singer-songwriter on a couple Grateful Dead staples and more.

First up was Jason Crosby, who lent his violin to “Arkansas”—the title track of Oates’ latest album—plus “All I Am” and “Lose It In Louisiana.” Immediately after, Weir emerged to help out on the Dead’s “Friend of the Devil” and “West L.A. Fadeaway,” plus a cover of The Temptations’ “Shakey Ground.” After the guests, Oates later fit in a few Hall & Oates favorites, ending his set with “Maneater” and “I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do)” and rounding out the show with an encore of “You Make My Dreams.”

Weir and Oates also teamed up at Sweetwater in February 2015, when the two joined forces for a couple covers of The Band and the Dead’s “Goin’ Down the Road Feeling Bad.” Watch video of that collaboration here. Hall & Oates also famously played with the Grateful Dead at an environmental benefit concert at Madison Square Garden in 1988.

See last night’s setlist below. Oates is off the road before a few European dates next month, while Weir will kick off a tour with his new Wolf Bros trio (featuring Don Was and Jay Lane) one October 16 in Reno, NV.
