On Sunday afternoon, Mill Valley, CA’s Sweetwater Music Hall hosted its inaugural Sweetwater in the Sun festival at Stafford Lake Park in Novato, CA, welcoming a lineup headlined by a group of longtime collaborator led by the duo of guitarists Bob Weir and Steve Kimock.

The one-day gathering also featured music from Eric Krasno, Jennifer Hartswick Band, The Skiffle Players, Maggie Rose and a duo of Kimock and Jerry Joseph, along with a stage for music for the kids in attendance.

For the final set of the evening, Weir and Kimock teamed up with drummer Jay Lane, bassist Robin Sylvester, percussionist Wally Ingram and keyboardist Mookie Siegel. Before Weir came on stage, the collective ran through the instrumental “It’s Up to You,” then welcomed Jerry Joseph up for Toot & The Maytals’ “54-46 Was My Number” and Bob Dylan’s “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue.” Weir then joined the band for the rest of the performance, which included Dead favorites like “Stella Blue,” “The Other One” and “Samson & Delilah.”

Below, see yesterday’s setlist and fan-shot video from the festival (via Deadheadland/YouTube user skiebus). Next up for Weir is his fall tour with Wolf Bros (featuring bassist Don Was and drummer Lane), which kicks off October 16 in Reno, NV. See the full tour dates here.
