Producer Richard Swift passed away in July, but the famed creator still managed to complete his final album, The Hex, in his final months.

According to a press release, the album’s title stems from Swift’s unique vernacular: “The Hex is the grand folly of all human existence — that we have to lose all the people we love; that we feign control while sailing toward calamity; that we, in all likelihood, are spinning alone in an endless universe.”

Today, Swift’s friends and family have shared “Sept20” the first taste of Swift’s final LP, and what they consider to be his final song.

Label Secret Canadian will release the physical version of The Hex on Dec. 7, but the album will be available to stream on Friday, Sept. 21.
