On Tuesday night, Leon Bridges brought his tour in support of his most recent album Good Thing to The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, and the soul crooner welcomed out special guest guitarist John Mayer for a couple tunes during the performance.
The first collaboration came when Bridges and his backing band were joined by Mayer—who apparently came dressed in his pajamas—for Bridges’ ballad “Mrs.” off Good Thing, with Mayer throwing in a couple signature slow-blues solos. The Dead & Company guitarist would later emerge during Bridges’ encore for “Mississippi Kisses” off his 2015 debut Coming Home, allowing Mayer to bust out some more quick-paced blues licks.
Watch fan-shot video of both collaborations below. Bridges continues his tour tonight at the Santa Barbara Bowl, while Mayer is currently off the road from both Dead & Company and his solo gigs, with only an appearance at Louisville’s Bourbon & Beyond festival later this month on his schedule.
