New York’s Brooklyn Bowl will host the fourth-annual Bowl Hashanah at 10am on Monday, September 10. The musically driven Rosh Hashanah morning services will be led by Rabbi Daniel Brenner and The Sway Machinery’s Jeremiah Lockwood. Keyboardist Shoko Nagai, drummer John Bollinger and singer Jewlia Eisenberg will perform with Lockwood throughout the morning.

The holiday celebration will include a torah reading and procession lead by Rabbi Brenner and Eisenberg, plain-sense explanations of the religious aspects of the holiday, morning prayers, the traditional shofar blowing and a guided meditation led by Sydney Faith Rose of Dharma Punx.

Immediately following the Rosh Hashanah services, Eric Krasno will offer a short, special set with singer Leslie Mendelson. Kraz and Leslie will nod the day’s feeling during their performance, including a nod to his grandfather Lou Krasno, the violinist and frontman of the renowned klezmer and gypsy jazz combo the Gypsy Gems.

A vegetarian/dairy lunch from Blue Ribbon is included in the event’s ticket price. Bowl Hashanah is part of a suite of musically driven High Holiday services.
