West Coast psychonauts Grateful Shred will make their East Coast debut this July, in a two-night stand at Brooklyn Bowl.
The quartet will take on the Dead songbook on July 13 and 14, with special guests Mapache and opener Howlin Rain.
The band’s first-ever East Coast tour is presented by Relix, and it will stretch from July 12-21.
“It’s more of a ‘take’ on the Dead than a tribute band,” bassist Dan Horne (who is also a member of Circles Around the Sun) recently told Relix. “We end up sounding almost more like the Dead because we approach it in this free-spirited way; in other bands, they’ve got the perfect tones dialed in, they practice the drum parts, they’ve got their ‘Jerry.’ We just play.”
Tickets for Friday July 13 are available here.
Tickets for Saturday July 14 are available here.
