Widespread Panic opened up their seventh Panic En La Playa destination concert event at the Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya, Mexico last night, but the kickoff show ended up being cut short during the second set due to severe weather.

Before the storm ended the party, Panic got in one full set and about half of the second, opening the first of their four planned shows with a “Protein Drink” that jammed its way into “Climb to Safety.” Along with a number of live staples from the band, a run of covers ended up being the final tunes of the night, including a jam on Curtis Mayfield’s “Pusherman” and renditions of Tom Waits’ “Going Out West” and Bob Dylan’s “Solid Rock.”

See the setlist below as it appears in our Box Scores section, along with fan-shot video of first-set closer “Sewing Machine.” Panic En La Playa Siete continues today with a solo sunset performance from The Revivalists’ David Shaw, another round of Panic and a late-night set from the Playa All-Stars, featuring Eric Krasno, George Porter Jr., Ivan and Cyril Neville, Terence Higgins and Lettuce’s Shady Horns, Eric “Benny” Bloom and Ryan Zoidis.
