After changing its dates to mid-July, the Peach Festival has announced its initial lineup.
Jam titians like Phil Lesh and Gov’t Mule top the bill, along with two sets of Joe Russo’s Almost Dead. Perhaps the most exciting addition to Peach this year is “The Return of Dickey Betts and His Band.” Following a lengthy retirement, the founding member of the Allman Brothers recently plotted a return to music. Peach will mark his first live performance since 2014.
Moving down the lineup, Moe. and Twiddle will both serve up two sets. One of Twiddle’s performances will be a special Twiddle and “Frends” set, which will lead to lots of speculation on who will drop in (Phil Lesh sat-in with the band at their Tumble Down festival this past summer).
Chris Robinson Brotherhood will also perform this year, as well as young upstart bands like Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Spafford and a collaborative Devon Allman/Duane Betts set.
There are sure to be plenty of Allman Brothers tunes throughout the weekend. In addition to Warren Haynes, Dickey Betts, and the second generation Devon Allman/Duane Betts performance, original drummer Jaimoe will also take the stage with his Jasssz Band.
The Peach Festival will take place from July 19-22 at Montage Mountain in Scranton, Penn.
