Jack White will return with his new solo album Boarding House Reach later this year on his own Third Man Records, following up his 2014 effort Lazaretto, and the former White Stripes frontman has shared two tracks from the new record, along with a new video accompanying one of the tunes.

The first track, “Connected By Love,” features White’s introspective side along with a bombastic chorus, gospel-tinged backup vocals from The McCrary Sisters’ Ann and Regina McCrary and a keyboard-versus-guitar solo-trading section with Soulive/Lettuce keyboardist Neal Evans. Along with the McCrarys and Evans, White’s New York recording studio band included drummer Louis Cato, bassist Charlotte Kemp Muhl, synthesizer player DJ Harrison and percussionist Bobby Allende.

The accompanying video for the track, directed by Pasqual Gutierrez and recorded in Los Angeles and Nashville, takes place in a world where a mysterious, gigantic, moon-like object is slowly crashing into Earth and follows the lives of various people dealing with the impending doom while living their daily lives.

Watch below and listen to the second new album track, “Respect Commander,” a classic White freak-out mashup of instruments and energy. White has recently been announced as headliner for Atlanta’s Shaky Knees, Boston Calling and New York’s Governors Ball, with more dates expected in support of the album.
