Indie-folk guitarist Jonathan Wilson is in the midst of a holiday run at Los Angeles’ Moroccan Lounge and, last night, welcomed Jackson Browne as one of his surprise guest openers. Wilson, who is currently on tour as Roger Waters’ guitarist, introduced Browne before the iconic songwriter’s short set and remained onstage for a few songs, including Browne’s classic “These Days” and his new charity single “The Dreamer,” Warren Zevon’s “Lawyers Guns and Money” and “ “Play It All Night Long” Wilson’s own “Gentle Spirit.” (“Lawyers Guns and Money” appears on Zevon’s Browne-produced 1980 release, Excitable Boy.)

Browne and Wilson represent two generations of Laurel Canyon musicianship. They bonded during Wilson’s now famous home jam sessions a few years ago and have shared the stage in more public format as well. During Wilson’s 2012 holiday run dubbed the Merry Minstrel Musical Circus, Bob Weir, Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench joined Wilson and Browne for classic tunes like “Going Down The Road Feeling Bad.”

Wilson’s current run at the Moroccan Lounge will wrap-up this evening.
