God Street Wine hosted their second annual semi-acoustic holiday concert at New York’s City Winery over the weekend, and the jamband mainstays delivered two sets of originals with some choice covers throughout the night.
The first frame, which was played acoustic, featured a mid-set cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Cassidy,” which GSW had only played once before, with Bob Weir during a collaboration at his own TRI Studios in California. Set two included Michael Jackson’s “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough,” a debut for the band, while the encore added another two debut covers in memory of recently passed icons: Tom Petty’s “Crawling Back to You” and Steely Dan’s “Pretzel Logic,” honoring the late Walter Becker.
