Oteil Burbridge kicked off his solo tour last night with a Halloween show at the Ardmore Music Hall in Pennsylvania as the Dead & Company bassist explores his new album Water in the Desert.

The Oteil & Friends tour features Burbridge teaming with Eric Krasno, Melvin Seals, John Kadlecik, Jay Lane, Weedie Braimah and Alfreda Gerald as the ensemble rolled through a series of Grateful Dead covers and other tunes on opening night.

Among the highlights, first set takes on “How Sweet It Is” as well as “Run for the Roses” and “Deep Ellum Blues” while the second set featured an opening rendition of “Tangled Up in Blue.” Jerry Garcia’s catalog continued to be celebrated with a mid-set “Cats Under the Stars” before “Bertha,” “So Many Roads,” “Piece of My Heart” and a closing “Ripple.”

The tour continues tonight in Charleston, SC.
