David Nelson returned to the stage with the David Nelson Band as a part of a wildfire benefit at the Marin JCC Halloween Ball marking his first live appearance in over a year. The band leader had taken time off from performing after being diagnosed with colon cancer earlier this year.

As Deadheadland reports, Nelson was introduced by Wavy Gravy at the California Kind show, a benefit for the recent wildfires, to play alongside Barry Sless, Pete Sears, John Molo, Rob Barraco and Katie Skene. Mookie Siegel also joined in for Nelson’s set.
