Umphrey’s McGee wrapped up their Halloween run at the Palace Theatre in St. Paul, MN, deviating from their traditional mashup theme to present a tribute to Prince in his home state of Minnesota.

Each band member dressed as a different era of Prince as the night opened up with Brendan Bayliss reciting the iconic monologue that kicks off the Purple Rain album before launching into “Let’s Go Crazy,” a debut for the band.

To close the first set, Umphrey’s once again debuted Prince’s “Raspberry Beret” after a set that centered around “Bridgeless,” with tunes like “Blue Echo,” “Rocker II” and “The Linear” worked in as well.

Kicking off the second set, the group welcomed out Ahmad Gallab of Sinkane to take vocals on “I Wanna Be Your Lover,” yet another Prince debut on the night. Following jam-heavy takes on “Ocean Billy” and “Utopian Fir” as well as high-energy rockers “Attachments” and “Mulche’s Odyssey,” the group debuted a fourth Prince song with “Little Red Corvette” before breaking for the encore.

Returning for one final song on the first mashup-less Halloween in a decade, the band debuted Prince’s “1999” before ending the show.
