Following a run of shows this month at the Village Vanguard with The Bad Plus, jazz guitarist Bill Frisell will stay in New York for two additional residencies.
Frisell has a long history as a guitar innovator, an in-house studio musician for ECM Records and an active participant in both the New York and Seattle music scenes. His upcoming residency at Jazz Standard will take place from December 7-10, and feature frequent collaborator, bassist Thomas Morgan.
After the winter has thawed, Frisell will perform solo at The Stone’s new location from August 22-25, and conclude his New York run with a free show at Russ & Daughters Cafe on August 30.
