Trey Anastasio stopped by the Beacon Theatre tonight to join Tedeschi Trucks Band during the second set of their sixth and final show at the New York venue.

Anastasio emerged for Leon Russell’s “Delta Lady” in the second set and teamed with Derek Trucks on a sprawling “Mountain Jam” that stretched past the 30-minute mark and included a an instrumental section of another song associated with the Allman family, “Will the Circle Be Unbroken?” The Phish guitarist started covering “Delta Lady” with the Trey Anastasio Band; Band earlier this year; “Mountain Jam” was a TTB debut.

The meeting marks the first appearance with Tedeschi Trucks Band, although Anastasio and Trucks have met up in years past, most recently at Wanee 2014 when the Phish guitarist joined the Allman Brothers.

Anastasio sat in with the Brothers multiple times over the years including during the band’s 2009 Beacon Theatre run as well as a pair of 2005 shows. Trucks has also joined Phish in the past, sitting in for “Funky Bitch” during the band’s 1999 stop in Charlotte.
