The National are in Europe promoting their new album Sleep Well Beast with a series of shows that’ll stretch into the fall, and Friday night in Cork, Ireland, the band got some help from a few longtime collaborators.

Among them, Lisa Hannigan who split lead vocals with Matt Berninger on a number of tunes throughout the night including the Sleep Well Beast opener “Nobody Else Will Be There” as well as Trouble Will Find Me standout “I Need My Girl,” Boxer rarity “Green Gloves” and another new song, “Carin at the Liquor Store.”

Hannigan later returned in the encore for “Born to Beg” and also helped close the show with a Cat Power cover of “Maybe Not.”

The other guest on the night was Justin Vernon, a longtime friend of the band and frequent collaborator with all members of the band. Vernon emerged for High Violet‘s “Afraid of Everyone” and the new rocker “Turtleneck” as well as Boxer standout “Slow Show.” Vernon returned later in the set for new song “Guilty Party” and “Day I Die” before departing.

The National will continue their tour with a show in Dublin tonight.
