After a guest-filled late night set that included appearances from Nicole Atkins and Jim James on Friday night, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead’s Saturday night show included another collaboration with Bob Weir as the guitarist sat in on a number of tunes throughout the set.

Almost Dead kicked off their show with an expansive “Althea” before Weir sauntered on stage for a spirited “Black Throated Wind” and groovy “Good Lovin’” before one of the more super-charged “Jack Straw” performances in recent memory.

Weir exited to travel to the Super VIP section of the grounds to collaborate with DJ Logic during his late night set before surprisingly returning at the end of the set while Almost Dead was in the midst of a “Playing in the Band” jam.

After Russo was alerted to Weir’s desire to come back on stage, he called an audible and went into “Samson and Delilah” with Weir’s help. “Bob’s back,” Russo exclaimed following the performance.

With their curfew fast-approaching, Almost Dead was convinced by the crowd to return for another song, this time with Weir leading the band on “One More Saturday Night” to bring the show to a rousing close.
