Umphrey’s McGee and White Denim continued their joint tour through the south with a stop at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater where they collaborated during UM’s headlining set.

In the first set, the band welcomed out White Denim guitarist James Petralli to add vocals to Peter Tosh’s “Steppin’ Razor,” which made its 2017 debut (last played March 17, 2016) and marked the first collaboration between the two bands.

Other highlights throughout the show included a lengthy first-set closing rendition of “The Floor” along with a pairing of two of the band’s biggest live staples to kick off the second set as “Der Bluten Kat” gave way to “Wife Soup” before returning to “Kat” with a number of notable solos from Brendan Bayliss throughout.

Umphrey’s also mixed in a rare cover of Mark Ronson’s “Daffodils” as the show progressed along with Raw Stewage favorite “Upward” to go along with the standalone “Ringo” encore.
